After-School Clubs

Writers Act

When:     2nd Wednesday of the Month, 3:40pm-4:30pm

Where:    Room 224

What:      Students will write monologues and short scenes; perform each

                other's work.

Student Council

When:       Meets every other Monday, Click here for dates.

Where:      GMS Library

What:        Student leadership organization focused on school and community

                  service, as well as organizing activities and events to boost

                  school spirit.

Advisor:    Ms. Winn (

Permission slip and short essay on leadership due at the end of each September.

(We are not able to take new members past that time, unless the student is new to GMS.)


GMS Robotics

When:      Tuesdays, after school until 5:30PM

Where:     Newton School

What:      This club offers students an opportunity to have fun and learn

                 some very basic computer programming and robotics.

                The club will use LEGO Mindstorms NXT/EV3 kits. This is a

                 precursor to attending a First Lego League Robotics Competition.

Cooking Club

When:         Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:40 pm to 4:30

Where:        Cafeteria

What:          To teach how to cook, measure, menu plan, follow recipes,

                    increase and decrease recipes, knife skills, use of kitchen equipment

                    in a fun safe environment.

Advisor:     Starr Hurd (

This club is currently inactive due to COVID-19 precautions.


Yearbook Committee

(a subgroup of Student Council)

When:    Student Council Meetings and before school, from 7:15-7:30 on

                Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

Where:   GMS Library

What:     Students work through the editing and publication process

               of the 2020 school yearbook

Join Student Council in September, and then join the Yearbook Committee. 



Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA)

When:     Thursdays, 3:40pm-4:30pm

What:      The Greenfield Middle School Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) is a group of students dedicated to creating a safe space

                for students who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or gender non-binary, and their allies.

Anime Club

When:     Every other Tuesday, 3:40pm-4:30pm (February 25March 10March 24April 7April 28May 12May 26)

What:      A place to draw manga, create anime, cosplay AND watch the occasional anime.
