This Teacher's Day, Superintendent Harper shared her thanks with the hard-working teachers of the Greenfield Public Schools.

Dear Teachers,

Happy Teacher’s Appreciation Day!

This year, more than ever before, I want to say “thank you.”

Thank you for being there for our students.

Thank you for being the kind, familiar face that our students look forward to seeing in their classroom.

Thank you for being the firm, strong voice of reason and structure that brings order to some of our students’ otherwise confusing and sometimes chaotic lives.

Thank you for working tirelessly, on nights and weekends, on vacations and summers, to make your classrooms a place where students succeed.

Thank you for showing time and time again the creativity to make a lesson engaging, to make a subject come to life, and to make students enjoy learning.

Thank you for your commitment not just to any students, but to our students, here in Greenfield.

Thank you for your collaboration and support of your colleagues, and for being the person that cheers up others and encourages new and experienced teachers alike on those challenging days.

Thank you for being willing to try administration’s new ideas or support district initiatives with an open mind.

Thank you for making calls home to parents and guardians, not just when things go wrong, but when your students do something right.

Thank you for challenging our brightest students, and supporting those that need you most.

Thank you for taking care of yourself, so you can continue to burn brightly without burning out.

Thank you for handling all the new challenges that come your way with grace and a positive attitude, setting an example for your students as they watch how you handle difficulty in your own life.

Most of all, thank you for being you, thank you for all you do, and thank you for being here with us in the Greenfield Public Schools.  This place would not be the same without each and every one of you. We thank you for your commitment to our students, for your hard work and dedication, and for the joy of teaching that keeps you going strong.

Thank you!

Sincerely yours,

Jordana B. Harper
