We are pleased to announce the live launch of the new Greenfield Public School's website!

The website was the result of our focus on improving communications about the great work happening in our schools with the broader community, and are in direct response to the District Communications Survey completed in the 2014-2015 school year. The goals of the website included serving our community better with:

  • improved access to important information for our parents, students, staff, and community members
  • clean, fresh design that is also "responsive" (viewable on your tablet or smartphone)
  • easy navigation
  • integrated calendar features
  • integrating social media
  • digital photography highlighting the wonderful events in our schools

There is a special section for each School, as well as tabs for special user groups including Staff, Students, Families & Community. Calendar features, identified by parents as a priority during the summer listening sessions with the Superintendent, feature prominently on the site. Social media is also a key feature in response to the survey results.

While the official launch will be in August, the newly redesigned site is now live. The Greenfield Public Schools will continue to update the site with fresh content, new features, and incorporate your feedback over the course of the summer. Please take a look around and let us know what you think!

Reflecting our commitment to support the local community, Greenfield Public Schools is pleased to have partnered with the Collaborative for Educational Services as a member district to deliver this quality product. My special thanks to Travis Johnston, Web Architect at the Collaborative for Educational Services, for his many hours of work in weekly design sessions and migrating and developing the new website in response to user feedback and needs over the last several months.

The Greenfield Public Schools acknowledges the work of Carol Holzberg, Director of Technology, and her hard working team, GPS administrators, the School Committee and public for their input on how we can improve our district communication. Many great suggestions were already incorporated in the design.

The site design reflects the process of community engagement, including 203 participants in the Communications Survey, the Superintendent's listening session, and also a trial session at Greenfield High School where PTOs, student council members, teachers, principals, and interested community members piloted the site while in beta to provide excellent feedback. In addition, administrators and administrative assistants have been trained in the website management so that the site has the capacity to be more responsive and respond in real-time to school level needs. Suggestions, including expanding "Families" to "Families & Community," more intuitive navigation, and content suggestions were incorporated into the design.

The Greenfield Public Schools extends our thanks to our many community partners who supported this initiative and look forward to continuing to expand our communication with families, students, staff and the community regarding the excellent work taking place in our schools.
