Food services director honored for expanding locally grown food in Greenfield schools

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield School Department’s Food Service Director Greta Shwachman received a kale bouquet and a certificate on Tuesday, recognizing her work to increase locally grown food used in school lunches.

This year's GPS recipient of the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents Award for Academic Excellence is Brielle Widelo. Congratulations, Brielle!

GPS staff, students, and families participated in Turkey Trots across various school buildings on Wednesday, November 23rd. Check out the great photos below!

Thanksgiving Break kicks-off Wednesday, November 23rd with a district-wide Early Release (No Preschool, Elementary 11:55 am, Middle & High School 11:15 am). Schools will then be closed Thursday, November 24th and Friday, November 25th. 

The Central Office will also be closing at 12:30 pm on 11/23, and is closed 11/24 and 11/25.
