Academy of Learning welcomes new principal

GREENFIELD — After a semester without a principal, The Academy of Early Learning has finally filled the job.

Longtime educator Tom King came out of a two-year retirement to become principal of the Greenfield public preschool. The position is part-time, Monday through Wednesday.

GREENFIELD — Chris Moehringer, a 27-year-old University of Massachusetts Amherst graduate, performed his first recital as Greenfield High School music director Tuesday, less than two weeks after his Jan. 2nd start date.

Over 3,000 students take field trip to Mullins Center at UMass Amherst

AMHERST, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- Thousands of students from more than a dozen schools in western Massachusetts traveled to see the UMass women's basketball team take on George Mason on Wednesday.

It wasn't all fun and games as the field trip serves as an educational purpose where students learn from the sidelines of the basketball court at the Mullins Center.

The 9th Annual Greenfield Student Film Festival is taking place on Friday, May 10th, at 6pm in the Greenfield High School Auditorium.
