Dear Parents / Guardians,
This Year, students will no longer be allowed to charge meals in the cafeteria. At this time we are respectfully requesting that you pay off any balances that your children may owe. This practice is in place to help families manage their accounts. Timely payment on the part of parents will allow the food service department maintain financial viability for the school year.
The courtesy of allowing students to charge an occasional meal because they forgot their lunch money was never meant to be used like a “credit card.” Unfortunately, many people have abused this privilege, to the point that we no longer allow it.
Please remember that snack milks and a la carte purchases are not part of the school meals program. Even if you qualify for free or reduced meals, you are still responsible for paying for these items.
You may continue to pre-pay for your children’s meals. Each time your child purchases a meal from the cafeteria, the amount will be deducted from his/her account. This may be by check, or online. Payments online may be accessed by clicking on the www.gpsk12.org then clicking the Nutrikids.com icon. This will allow you to make payments by credit card or by PayPal .
If your family is experiencing financial difficulties, or has experienced a reduction in income, please submit a Free / Reduced Price Meals Application at any time during the school year.
Sincerely
Bernie Novak
Director of Food & Nutritional Services, S.N.S.
