POSITION:  ASSOCIATE BUSINESS MANAGER

Overview:
The Greenfield Public Schools is restructuring its administrative operations and is creating the position of Associate Business Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to enter the school business management field or someone who wants to work in a school system that functions as a division of a city.

The Business Manager for the school system has administrative responsibility for administration of finances, facilities, personnel, custodial and maintenance services, grants, special funds, and a myriad of required and requested reports.  The Associate Business Manager would have an opportunity to learn and work on all facets of the business and financial operations. Initially, the focus of the position is intended to be facilities and personnel.

Requirements:
At least a bachelors degree in business, personnel, accounting or experience in these fields that has resulted in knowledge and capacity. Excellent skills working with numbers, spreadsheets, and data management tools. Certification or certifiability is preferred but not required at time of hire.

Compensation:
Salary in the range of $45,000 to $65,000, depending on background and experience. Greenfield has an excellent benefit program.

Area:
Greenfield is a small city of 20,000 in northwestern Massachusetts, an area known for its five college community, an active intellectual environment, and geographic beauty. Located right on Route 91, Greenfield is the center of Franklin County and within 25 miles of both Vermont and New Hampshire.

Teacher: 1.0 High School English

Qualifications: Appropriate MA Teacher Certification in English
Basic Duties:
5 classes in English. General electives and courses combining English skills and pertinent computer applications, e.g., word processing and publishing.

Teacher: .5 High School Math

Qualifications: Appropriate MA Teacher Certification in Math
Basic Duties:
Teach 2-3 Math courses and/or electives at the High School.

Title I Literacy paraprofessionals (3)

Basic Duties:
Work with Title I Literacy teacher at Newton, Federal Street or Middle School (grades 4 & 5 only). In addition, this position requires working with eligible students on computers, math and reading.

Paraprofessional: Academy of Early Learning (3:30-5:30pm, Monday through Thursday)

Responsibilities:
Answer phone and door; provide backup to preschool program; Assist with pre-kindergarten projects; secure building at the end of the day.

Teachers: High School Alternative Education Program

One course each: English, History, Science, Math
Qualifications: Appropriate MA Teacher Certification

Requirements:
Design and teach highly engaging and individualized course for up to 12 students.

Teacher:  Reading, Middle School (3 ½ hours/day)

Responsibilities:
To work with special education department providing reading, tutoring and instruction to students in grades 6, 7 & 8

Professional for Library Literacy .45 FTE

Duties include teaching students, working with the accelerated reading and math programs.  This position will be shared between Newton and Federal Street for an elementary teacher to create a literacy center in the library.

Occupational Therapist (Full or Part-time)

Responsibilities:
To provide direct and consultative services to students whose IEP’s require same.  Position deals with mostly younger students.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) (Full or Part-time)

Responsibilities:
To assist the occupational therapist in meeting the occupational therapy needs of students.

Nurse part-time LPN or RN (15 hours/week)

Responsibilities:
To provide coverage at Federal Street and Green River Schools.

Special Education Paraprofessionals (Elementary, Middle & High School) (Full or part-time)

Library Technology Assistant

Responsibilities:
Title I positions at Federal Street and Newton Elementary Schools working with students in the library on computers.

Special Education Administrative Assistant (1-2hr/day)

Responsibilities:
Assist with paperwork in the Special Education office.  Database entry, numbers working, and other duties assigned.
