Recorder: "Last day of school at Newton Elementary filled with sunshine"


GREENFIELD — Before students embarked on the annual tradition of a “clap out” to end their final day of school at Newton Elementary this year, fourth-grade students had the chance to be honored in a stepping-up ceremony Friday morning.

Before a packed house of parents, with cars squeezed into the parking lot and lining Shelburne Road, Principal Melodie Goodwin and staff held the ceremony in the playground area behind the school.

“You’ll always remain a Newtonian,” Goodwin told the students on a sunkissed morning.

Spring Open House at the High School, 4/12/18, 6:30-8:30PM

Please join us at Greenfield High School on Thursday, April 12 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. for a spring Open House.  We really want to encourage the incoming 7th grade students and their families to attend and explore all that Greenfield High School has to offer.

Teachers will be showcasing student work in their classrooms and the student clubs offered at the high school will have tables in the foyer with information on what the clubs actually do and how students can join.

Guidance counselors will be on hand to discuss course selections and the Program of Studies for 2018-19, ...

GREENFIELD — The prosecution was closing in on Galileo Galilei, asking question after question, and starting to push on a particular point.

“I did ... what did you say I did?” Galilei asked the prosecution. Those in the room giggled as the scientist adjusted her mustache.

Federal Street's 5th annual Harvest Dinner is 11/10

Federal Street School’s 5th annual Harvest dinner is planned for November 10th.

At 4:30 families are invited to come and play board games in the gym. Before dinner is served students in our school chorus will sing for us. Families will enjoy a dinner of Macaroni and cheese, vegetables, rolls, and desserts which are donated from local businesses. Our staff helps prepare and serve the dinner.
