Qualifications:

-Certification as a Director of Special Education
-Knowledge of special education regulations, “Move-In Law”, and all Massachusetts General Laws that impact special education services.

POSITION TITLE:
Director of Curriculum & Instruction
Grant Funded

SUPERVISES: Title I Staff, Technology Coordinator, and Substitute Teacher Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Hold or be eligible for Massachusetts Certification as a
  2. Have a minimum of seven (7) years successful experience in classroom teaching, administration, school management and staff supervision.
  3. Possess a Master’s Degree with graduate coursework or on site experience in the design, evaluation and assessment of curriculum along with knowledge of student assessment and testing formats.
  4. Past experience in designing, coordinating and implementing staff training programs.
  5. Knowledge of and experience in instructional management, supervision of staff and new program development.
  6. Past experience in budget planning, fiscal management and grantdevelopment.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists the Superintendent in directing the administration and coordination of the school system’s educational programs Pre-K-12.
  2. Guides the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum.
  3. Interprets the present curriculum and proposed curriculum changes to the School Committee, Administration, staff and general public.
  4. Coordinates the activities of the various curriculum committees/task forces.
  5. Aligns and sets standards for and published all curriculum guides and materials for distribution to the instructional staff, community, etc.
  6. Creates, implements and evaluates staff development programs for faculty and paraprofessionals.
  7. Monitors site-based programs to ensure curriculum implementation, quality of instruction and make recommendations for improvement to site administrator(s).
  8. Recommends for School Committee consideration polices relative to educational issues.
  9. Coordinates system-wide student assessment activities to measure the effectiveness of instructional services throughout the school system.
  10. Keeps informed on the latest research, trends and developments relative to teaching and learning theory.
  11. Is responsible for recommending system-wide instructional budgets.
  12. Makes presentations at School Committee on curriculum and educational programs.
  13. Administers all grants assigned to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction including Title I and other discretionary, entitlement and competitive grants.
  14. Develops new grants in conjunction wit school district program needs.
  15. Guides the development, implementation, and evaluation of staff development programs at the district level in support of school improvement goals.
  16. Monitors site-based programs to ensure that curriculum implementation, instructional programs, and evaluation procedures are of high quality.
  17. Directs the system-wide Accountability System Program including, but not limited to, student assessment date, to monitor the effectiness of instructional services throughout the school system.
  18. Assumes any other such duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
  19. Responsible for Home Schooling policies and procedures.
  20. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and coordinating teacher/para substitutes for the district.

Position: Food Service Worker for the Summer Feeding Program
Up to Five Hours per day

Funded by: Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)

Requirements:

-High School Diploma
-ServSafe certified or certifiable

Qualifications:

-Ability to work without constant supervision
-Must be able to follow strict portion control guidelines of all foods
-Must be able to maintain good working relationships with students and staff
-Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds using proper lifting techniques and the use of safety equipment
-Any other duties assigned by the managers or the director
